TOMIGUNN soil microbes

Field testing of microbiologicals is ongoing in West Virginia as part of the WV BRAG initiative

Ongoing field testing continues in West Virginia! For this project, a specialized product is applied to one acre to address specific land issues, while an adjacent untreated acre serves as a control.

The goal is to restore unusable land by enhancing native plant-beneficial soil microbes, enabling the State of West Virginia to use it for agriculture.

We also collaborate with landscapers and turf professionals, applying our microbiological approach to enhance soil health and root development, reducing the need for pesticides in both agricultural and urban settings.

PRUNTYTOWN STATE FARM CHOSEN AS TEST SITE FOR BIOLOGICALS IN SOIL AND WATER

Charleston, WV – April 9, 2025 – West Virginia BRAG initiative, led by Senator Darren J. Thorne—a commercial farmer—is advancing with plans to treat two acres of land at the Pruntytown State Farm site.

Soil tests indicate “phosphorus lock,” a condition where phosphorus binds tightly to elements like iron, aluminum, or calcium in the soil, rendering it unavailable for plant use due to extreme pH levels, either highly acidic or alkaline.

This binding restricts nutrient availability, potentially limiting plant growth and reducing agricultural output.

To address this, we will apply MARK 4, a soil probiotic from TOMIGUNN, designed to unlock this trapped phosphorus.

MARK 4 is a blend of microbes, enzymes, bio-stimulants, and microbial food sources that enhances the soil’s natural microbial population.

By boosting microbial activity, it breaks down the chemical bonds holding phosphorus, releasing it for plant uptake. This process improves root development, enhances plant resilience against stress, and promotes healthier, more productive growth, supporting the initiative’s goal of revitalizing soil health and fostering sustainable agriculture under Senator Thorne’s leadership.

In the next phase, we will focus on restoring the pH balance of water at the site, which currently exhibits a high heavy metal count, bringing it back to normal levels to further improve environmental conditions and support the overall ecosystem.

Unlocking Nature’s Potential: WV BRAG Team Tests Soil

Charleston, WV – March 14, 2025 – The WV BRAG team, which includes Tom Brophy, of TOMIGUNN, and State Senator Darren Thorne, are out in the field, scouting test sites and taking soil samples across West Virginia.

At one site, the team suspects the soil may have high phosphorus levels—great for plant growth but often locked in forms crops can’t use.

The TOMIGUNN team believes MARK 4 will unlock it, with its diverse microbes and enzymes breaking down phosphorus into plant-available nutrients.

Stay tuned as we dig deeper!

WV BRAG: Pioneering Biodynamic Agriculture with Senator Thorne’s Leadership

Charleston, WV – March 4, 2025 – Thank you State Senator Darren Thorne for your leadership in the West Virginia Biodynamic Regeneration in Agriculture (WV BRAG) project.

We are eager to choose the test locations in the near term and get the project going! WV BRAG is a pilot project that will use microbiologicals to remediate soil and water and increase crop yields.

The intent is to take the mystery out of this science using real-world testing and independent verification. Senator Thorne is both an elected official and a commercial farmer who understands firsthand what it takes to raise a family as a farmer. We greatly value his insight and leadership.

Nous Holdings Inc Selected by West Virginia for Groundbreaking Biodynamic Agriculture Project

Charleston, WV – February 28, 2025 – Nous Holdings Inc, the parent company of TOMIGUNN, is proud to announce its selection by the State of West Virginia to spearhead an innovative field-testing initiative focused on biologicals for crops and remediation of soil and water.

Dubbed the West Virginia BRAG (Biodynamic Regeneration in Agriculture), this endeavor aims to revolutionize farming in the state and beyond.

WV BRAG is led by State Senator Darren Thorne, a commercial farmer representing District 15, whose practical experience brings invaluable insight into this pioneering effort.

“I’m thrilled to head up the WV BRAG project,” said Senator Thorne.

“This is an exciting opportunity to blend my hands-on farming experience with cutting- edge innovations, providing that we grow healthier crops and restore our land and water naturally.”

Thomas Brophy, President of Nous Holdings Inc, shared this excitement: “Seeing is believing when it comes to biologicals, and we’re thankful to the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.”

WV BRAG is the first in a larger initiative to make West Virginia the epicenter for commercially focused farming and learning.

Through meticulous field trials and detailed scientific oversight, the project will deliver concrete proof of the effectiveness and financial advantages of biologicals, transforming these often-overlooked products into mainstream solutions.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward positioning West Virginia as a leader in commercially focused biodynamic agriculture. More details on the project’s timeline and specific testing sites will be released in the coming months.
